W.T.C. PRODUCTIONS is proud to present SHRINE OF INSANABILIS' highly anticipated second album, Vast Vortex Litanies.
It was but four years ago, in 2015, when SHRINE OF INSANABILIS burst forth from the void, virtually out of nowhere, with a shockingly bold debut album for W.T.C. Duly bearing an ever-so-apt title, Disciples of the Void swiftly proved that this mysterious German quartet were no mere acolytes: for a debut album, it evinced a master's knowledge, displaying a bold vision of boundless-yet-pure black metal. And while a two-song 7" EP, Tombs Opened by Fervent Tongues... Earth's Final Necropolis, emerged two years later, teasing the throngs for further mastery, SHRINE OF INSANABILIS receded into the shadows from whence they came.
Or so it would seem. In fact, during the interim, SHRINE OF INSANABILIS took part in a number of prestigious festivals over the next few years - including Oration, Messe des Morts, Netherlands Deathfest, and Rites of the Black Mass II, among others - as well as a full European tour alongside Acherontas, Sinmara, and Slidhr. These young masters soon became veterans of the stage, and their incendiary performances brimmed with a bolstered confidence that would soon spill over onto record.
And at last, it has arrived with Vast Vortex Litanies. Almost too perfectly titled, Vast Vortex Litanies is the sound of SHRINE OF INSANABILIS both sharpening their blades and simultaneously finding other weapons to wield. Still a heaving obsidian mass, the band's sound here is heightened by an increased emphasis on spiraling melodicism and slipstreaming violence. Forever rising and falling, surging and merging, offering glimpses of glory and valleys of despair in equal measure, one could easily say Vast Vortex Litanies consolidates SHRINE OF INSANABILIS' all-too-considerable strengths. But that only tells half the story, as the quartet take surprising detours within these seven sulfurous litanies, flexing dynamic chops more fully than before whilst keeping the fires stoked for their all-consuming live experience. Thus, Vast Vortex Litanies is a record equally suited to stage and solitude.
Brazenly self-produced, with a fittingly clear 'n' crushing mix and mastering job courtesy of the esteemed Tore Stjerna at Necromorbus Studio and completed once again by highly symbolic artwork courtesy of the equally esteemed Dávid Glomba, Vast Vortex Litanies marks the arrival of SHRINE OF INSANABILIS as new monarchs of the underworld.

Few artists inspire sinister eerie terror like Akhlys. Glassy smooth distortion laced with C64 Pulse wave Synths interlaced with guitar harmonies, and a vocal style that screams "terrifying dream demon screaming at you while you sleep" almost literally. Inspired by Orphic myth, This band conjure unsettling feelings from their music that entrances the senses but with a warning of dire terror awaiting you. Close your eyes.... Akhlys dare you Unhallowed Remains

I've kept this album in my wishlist for a year waiting for the right time, right place. I think this is it now, for reasons known to me. And it's possibly one of the most important albums of this time (together with Mgła's Age of Excuse).
Worse still, one of the most important works of art of this time: not just in metal and not just in music.
And OK, my lovely one from them.
How tf anybody can call DsO fascists because of this remains inconceivable to me. YomaBarr
